Leading property and development company The McGoff Group has partnered with new Manchester-based broadband provider the 4th Utility to provide cutting-edge wi-fi at Downtown, its aspirational 374-bed residential scheme on Woden Street on the Manchester and Salford border.

Offering a real alternative to mainstream providers, the 4th Utility is a true superfast business quality broadband with speeds from 100MB up to 1GB and a business grade service level agreement that ensures any problems are resolved within four hours.

Downtown is one of the first residential developments to install the service in the North West ensuring that the scheme remains one of the most attractive in the UK; both in terms of an investment proposition for landlords and a desirable place to live and work for tenants.

The McGoff Group has ensured that the cabling infrastructure is in place for every apartment at Downtown, giving every apartment owner or occupier the option to access the exceptional service provided by the 4th Utility.

Connections can be provided as standard by landlords or residents can organise their own by taking out an individual contract in their own name.  Either way, new customers can access the service instantly after payment details have been completed and are usually online within 60 seconds (which is much faster than the usual five working days offered by other providers) and does not require the attendance of engineers to activate the service.

Chief technology officer at the 4th Utility, Jimmy Acton, commented: “The installation of 4th Utility full fibre in every apartment at Downtown means that all residents will be able to enjoy the UK’s fastest commercial grade fibre broadband in the comfort of their new homes. You have a right to superfast broadband just like electricity, gas and water and we ensure this is delivered instantly and without any delay.”

Sales director Mark Cueto added: “The importance of good wi-fi cannot be underestimated.  When you ask people what their number one priority is when moving house, it is the speed of installation and ongoing quality of their wi-fi service that comes out on top.  Traditional broadband services have problems with both delivery and speed, with only 2% of the UK actually receiving a true superfast service.  We are delighted to see that out of 115 residents who have moved in at Downtown to date, 113 have chosen to connect with the 4th Utility.”

Director of asset management at Downtown, Paul Danks said: “We are committed to offering only the very best services and facilities at Downtown to ensure that the property represents the very latest in city centre residential developments and urban living.  We appreciate how important wi-fi is for both our investors and owner occupiers and partnering with the 4th Utility was the natural choice.”

Located on the banks of the River Irwell, offering beautiful views and easy access to the cities of both Manchester and Salford, Downtown is a Manhattan-style development of 374 stylish apartments with high end facilities and hotel-style services including a lobby with 24 hour concierge, gymnasium, spa, media room, postal room, dry and chilled storage, private dining and business centre along with landscaped grounds and communal roof terraces.

Phase I is now complete.  Phase II is due for completion ahead of schedule in March 2020.  For all property lettings and further information, or to book a viewing of the show apartment, please contact the Downtown Asset Management team on 0800 118 2884.
