Matt Giles appointed as operations director at Fagan & Whalley

Local logistics and warehousing specialists, Fagan & Whalley have recently strengthened their leadership team by appointing long-standing employee Matt Giles as Operations Director. 

Having joined the company in 2019, he brings a wealth of experience in logistics, data-driven decision-making, and operational management, making him a strong asset as Fagan & Whalley continues to expand and evolve.

Matt’s career began in a small warehouse in Kettering. Seeking more significant growth opportunities, he and his wife relocated to the North, where he quickly advanced in the logistics sector. His ambition and expertise then led him to Fagan & Whalley, where he was drawn to the company’s strong family values.

Since joining, Matt has steadily moved up the ranks - from warehouse operations manager to group warehouse manager, and later group data information manager. Now, he steps into his new role as operations cirector, ready to drive the company forward. 

Matt said: “Using data to make informed decisions has always been key to my management style, and I’ll continue that approach in this new role,” he explained. “With 97 years of business behind us, Fagan & Whalley have a strong foundation, and the opportunity for growth is incredibly exciting.” 

While no two days in logistics are the same, Matt is already immersing himself in the fast-paced demands of his position. “Every day presents new challenges, and that’s something I thrive on. I’m still getting my feet under the table, but we’re already working on some big projects, so watch this space!”
