Preston-based consultancy Male Allies UK hosted the UK's first National Allyship Summit, which saw 15 different industries and 125 leaders tome together to explore the future of inclusion and leadership.
The event took place at the London Stock Exchange, with more than 2,000 people attending the livestream.
At the Summit, Male Allies UK released new research, where 27 male CEOs and chairs of FTSE 350 and the 50 biggest private companies in the UK, were asked questions on gender balance in leadership and business, what they felt was effective and ineffective, where they expect the conversation to move over the next 5 years, and what they were actively doing in this area. The research was undertaken in partnership with the FTSE Women's Leaders Review and KPMG UK.
Scottish Widows was the headline sponsor of the Summit, with other sponsors including IKEA, the Financial Times, Scottish Power and NatWest. The event was opened by Erica Bourne, chief people officer at LSEG, with a ministerial address from minister for equalities Seema Malhotra MP.
The Summit brought allyship into the national coversation, and also built the platform for Male Allies UK's future events. These include:
The Stronger Together Conference, in person and online on 20 November, 9.30am to 5.30am at NatWest Conference Centre London - a conference focused on effective inclusion, building bridges in and out of the business world, with the release of new research on the State of Allyship.
