Making business miles in Lancashire and beyond

By Brownlow Utilities

30 Nov 2017

One year on from the launch, the Skelmersdale Ambassadors programme has created a business community that is actively networking, sharing knowledge and generating business opportunities.

Graylaw Freight Group Limited and Brownlow Utilities are testimony to this. Since having informal discussions at the launch event held at Lancashire Manor Hotel in November 2016, they have developed a long-term business partnership that will have mutual benefits.

Brownlow Utilities asked to review the energy and utilities portfolio for the main Graylaw Freight site in Skelmersdale. This included a review of their electricity, gas, water contracts, including bill checking and an assessment of the site’s water drainage. As the electricity contact was coming up for renewal, Brownlow Utilities invited their extensive list of suppliers to tender for the supply to Graylaw Freight. The selection of rates along with various terms presented back to Graylaw Freight were far more competitive than those of the incumbent supplier who was ‘hiding’ commission within the rates!

Brownlow’s award-winning approach to be open, honest and transparent was apparent to Graylaw Freight who proceeded to sign a 36-month contract with the preferred electricity supplier. They also agreed to receive the ongoing contract support that Brownlow offers which provides them with energy market reports, consumption data, bill validation and utility purchasing support. The gas and water supplies will now be reviewed to identify savings and support purchasing.

With 30 years’ worth of expertise and experience in logistics, warehousing and freight forwarding Graylaw can offer all of its customer whether large or small a first-class service throughout the UK as they are part of the UPN palletised freight network which enables them to collect from all corners of the UK with a seamless service.

They also offer their own daily parcel/carton service for goods going to the Channel Island and all over Ireland as well as the Isle of Man which Graylaw are the market leaders in freight forwarding. Graylaw’s ‘can do’ approach ensures that everyone is offered a great service and there is no job too big or too small.

Having a much better awareness of each other’s business will enable further introductions, helping them both benefit from both a sales and promotional points of view. Visit Graylaw Freight Group website.
