Long-standing accountancy firms join forces
Two of Blackpool’s oldest accountancy practices have joined forces.Champion Accountants has teamed up with local practice Boniface & Co, which was established by Michael Boniface in 1978. Michael’s brother Andrew joined the firm as partner, in 2001.
Champion, which also has offices in Preston, originally came to Blackpool in 2007 when it acquired accountancy firm Haworth Moore, which had been operating in the town since the 1900s.Under this latest acquisition, Michael and Andrew Boniface will join Champion as client partners and bring a combined total of 85 years’ accountancy experience and local knowledge to the firm.
Originally located on Caunce Street, Boniface & Co were neighbours of Champion for 35 years, residing next door but one to their former office. They have now moved to join Champion on Whitehills Business Park, where the firm relocated to in March this year, following a period of growth.Champion client partner Michael Boniface said: “We are thrilled to join a company which has such long-standing roots in Blackpool. Joining forces with Champion will bring numerous benefits to our clients, including an expanded service profile and a wider base of specialist knowledge to draw from.” David Hardy, director at Champion’s Blackpool office, said: "Our shared ethos is to help businesses in and around Blackpool to grow, improving the local economy and supporting local businesses in any way possible.”
