Grassroots women-led projects across Lancashire and Merseyside will benefit from new funding thanks to a £6,000 donation to the Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside (CFLM).
The funds, donated by Swansway Motor Group, will support the Foundations’ Women’s Fund, which helps small, local organisations working to improve the lives of women and girls across the region.
Since its launch in 2018, the Women’s Fund has distributed more than £650,000 to groups tackling inequality, supporting wellbeing, and creating opportunities for women to thrive.
John Smyth, director at Swansway Motor Group, said: “As a family business based in the North West, community really matters to us.
"Partnering with the Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside means we can support causes that make a real, lasting difference to people’s lives.”
Rae Brooke, CFLM, chief executive, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Swansway Motor Group for their £6,000 donation to our Women’s Fund. Since 2018, the Fund has donated over £650,000 to grassroots, women-led organisations across Lancashire and Merseyside.
The only way this vital work is possible is through the support of donors like Swansway. It’s wonderful to see a local business step forward and invest in their community and create positive change."
The Community Foundations for Lancashire and Merseyside (CFLM) works with individuals, families, and businesses to channel charitable giving where it can have the greatest impact. Since 1999, it has distributed over £77m to grassroots organisations across the region.
