Two of the UK’s sporting living legends hosted a special charity evening at the award-winning Stanley House Hotel, Mellor.
Lancashire’s four times World Superbike Champion, Carl Fogarty, and twice British Championship winner, James Witham, launched the inaugural ‘Living Legends’ evening, in aid of St Catherine’s Hospice.
The sporting stars welcomed guests for an evening of entertainment, including a fascinating insight into their successful superbike sporting careers.
Similar events are now in the pipeline following the launch last month.
More than £5,400 was raised from a raffle on the night, which included personal items donated by Carl and James, with proceeds going to the Preston-based cancer charity, St Catherine’s Hospice. The hospice offers palliative care for cancer sufferers for the people of Chorley, Preston and South Ribble.
Philip Wharton, Stanley House Hotel general manager, said: “We’re very pleased with the successful launch of our inaugural ‘Living Legends’ evening, which raised a fantastic amount of money for St Catherine’s Hospice.
“We were especially proud to welcome Carl Fogarty and James Witham as our very first hosts. It was an exciting night, with the backdrop of Stanley House and our fantastic food and wine offering making the perfect accompaniment for our legendary speakers.”
