A wealth of live job vacancies will be promoted at a special Jobs Fair taking place on Thursday 20th March at Accrington Town Hall.

The event is being run by Hyndburn Council to support local businesses with their recruitment, with free stands available for Hyndburn businesses looking to recruit staff at the event, which will take place between 9am and 3pm.

Hyndburn businesses, as well as training and education providers are being invited to secure a stand and can do so by emailing [email protected].

Opening at 9am, the Jobs Fair is free-to-attend and open to anyone of any age, who may be looking for employment, looking for career advice or are thinking about starting an apprenticeship.

To allow those wanting to attend on their lunch break, the event will run continuously between 9am and 3pm, and for those that are unable to attend, a follow up list of the live job vacancies and employers will be published.

Aiming to inspire and encourage, the event will also welcome special VIP guest Emma Rothwell to Accrington Town Hall, an Accringtonian starring in this year’s BBC The Apprentice.

Emma will officially open the event at 9am and will be on hand to talk to visitors about their career goals and next steps on the employment ladder.

Councillor Scott Brerton, portfolio holder for business and growth, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for local people to not only learn more about the opportunities available to them, but also to apply for jobs that are live right now and need to be filled.

“We are looking for businesses from a wide range of sectors to join us, and we are excited to showcase some wonderful live opportunities in the local area.

“This is a real opportunity to get into work quickly and we would encourage anyone looking for employment to join us and discover their next career move.”

This event is part of an exciting events programme delivered by Hyndburn Borough Council and funded by UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Funding.
