Lingwood provides full site services at Orsted

Lingwood Security Management is providing full site support and security services for the Walney Substation at Heysham for Orsted, as part of the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm project.

We are providing the full site support for this project, including:

Manned Security Gateman Labourers Cleaning Services Providing the welfare cabins and offices Providing miscellaneous site supplies Organising the exchange and delivery of waste Organising Fuel for the welfare vehicles and tanks Organising the office supplies

A key part of the support package is to make daily contact with the Gateman to discuss any requirements for the site, and then process the necessary orders, coordinate the supplies and arrange deliveries for the required times.

This type of full support package allows us to work very closely with site managers, making their lives easier and at the same time, giving us greater control over the security of the project.

Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm is currently under construction and is expected to be complete by the end of 2018. Situated next to the existing Walney Offshore Wind Farm, the extension will comprise of up to 90 turbines and have a total capacity of up to 660 MW. This means that each year it will provide enough power for over 590,000 homes.

The wind farm is expected to have the world’s largest offshore installed capacity when inaugurated.
