Langtec hit a home run with new sponsorship
Accrington based manufacturing firm Langtec has sponsored a local baseball team with the aim of giving something back to the community whilst giving a nod to their American market.Andrew Turner, managing director of the company, who produce composite tubes for electrical and thermal insulation said: “North America has been our largest market by far for the past ten years, helping us to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise: International Trade on two occasions during that time.
“Wherever possible we try to support local organisations and decided that sponsorship of an under-funded American sport locally would be a good idea.“A quick search of the internet led us to the Bolton Robots of Doom Baseball Club who were happy to have us sponsor them for the forthcoming season.
“Almost all of our contacts in the USA and Canada are fanatical baseball fans so we were delighted to be able to be associated with their sport here in Lancashire.“Our few hundred pounds enabled the Robots of Doom to purchase some much needed training equipment and in return they shall be displaying our logo on their batting helmets, as well as ensuring website and social media links are established.
“We are delighted with the outcome and are very proud to be their official sponsors for the 2014 season, for which we wish them every success.”Bolton Robots of Doom were established in 2003 and play in British Baseball Federation’s (BBF) AA North Division. The Robots’ 2014 season starts on Sunday 13 April with an away game against local rivals, Manchester A’s at Wythenhshawe Park.
