Nelson-based entrepreneur Rachel Williams has secured an offer of £50,000 investment from Touker Suleyman after pitching her specialist skincare brand, Albus & Flora, on Dragons’ Den.
Physiologist Rachel entered the Den to present her science-led brand dedicated exclusively to the lips and the delicate skin surrounding the mouth - an area she says has been largely overlooked within mainstream skincare - impressing Touker Suleyman, and securing an offer of £50,000 for 30 per cent of the business.
Rachel said: “It’s incredibly exposing standing there on your own.
"Every number is challenged and every decision you’ve made over the years is put under a microscope.
"I’ve built Albus and Flora step by step, so it was intense, but I was ready for those questions.”
“Securing an offer felt significant. This brand has been years in the making, shaped by my scientific background and professional experience. To walk away with an offer was a defining moment.”
Rachel founded Albus and Flora in 2017 after stepping away from a successful academic and elite sport career to pursue science-led entrepreneurship.
Albus and Flora is a cosmeceutical skincare brand dedicated exclusively to the lips and surrounding skin, known as perioral skin.
Since launch, the brand has grown into an established UK skincare company stocked in aesthetic clinics and professional settings nationwide.
Operating from Nelson, Lancashire, Rachel has built the business independently, combining scientific credibility with commercial focus to develop what she hopes will become a leading authority in specialist lip and perioral skin care.
