Joanna Kay, director at Preston-based DigitalGuys Ltd, will be speaking on the technology panel at the Festival of Female Entrepreneurs on 20th October. She will represent the region’s technology services as the sole speaker to be selected from Lancashire.

Joanna will sit on the “What the Tech” panel alongside like-minded business women from leading companies Microsoft, Neardesk and SoftWire. She will talk about her experience of launching a digital marketing agency in Preston and how she has developed her understanding of technology to keep up with emerging trends.

Joanna said: “Lancashire is a fantastic place to start a new business, particularly in technology industries such as digital marketing. We’ve enjoyed real success over the past few years and I hope that my experience will encourage other female entrepreneurs to consider a technology start-up in our region.”

The Festival of Female Entrepreneurs takes place at Colston Hall, Bristol, and is organised by leading female networking group, Women Outside The Box (WOTB). The event aims to celebrate the accomplishments of women in business across the nation. Joni Farthing, director of Women Outside The Box, said: “I believe Joanna will inspire and inform our audience of women, many of whom may be quite frankly frightened of all things tech. I am absolutely delighted that she will be a part of the festival. ”
