Lancashire businesses earn Queen's Awards
Two Lancashire-based businesses have been recognised for their international achievements with prestigious Queen's Awards.Skelmersdale-based Beaconsfield Footwear, placed 49th in Lancashire Business View's Fab 50 list and better known as Hotter Shoes, is recognised after growing overseas earnings by 123 per cent over the last three years.
The company, which employs 1,169, said: "We'd like to thank all of our customers for their on-going support, custom and loyalty which has contributed to this outstanding achievement."Evans Vanodine, which regularly ranks in Lancashire Business View's Hot 100, has a turnover in excess of £25m and exports to 72 countries, with another ten served through licensed manufacturing units overseas. The pair will now attend a Buckingham Palace reception and can use the Queen’s Award emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for five years.
