Lancashire Business Day supports countywide projects through Community Foundation partnership
Individuals and businesses attending Lancashire Business Day will be able to contribute to projects which enrich the lives of people across the county after the Community Foundation for Lancashire’s selection as the event’s official charity partner.
Lancashire Business Day will take place on November 27 at a special event hosted in the all new Crow Wood Hotel in Burnley. Guests will dine on fine locally sourced food, hear motivational stories from local entrepreneurs and join in a debate about the county’s future involving some of the region’s most prominent decision makers.
As part of the programme, which has been designed to celebrate all things that make the county’s businesses #Lancashireandproud, Community Foundation for Lancashire will present an update on its work undertaken throughout the red rose county including more than £14m donated to charities and groups in the area since 2007.
Money will also be raised on the day which will support the foundation’s continuing work and organisations will learn about how they can bolster their CSR agenda by getting involved with the charity’s activities.
Karen Morris, development director for the Community Foundation for Lancashire, said: “We create charitable funds, through CSR and personal giving, which enable businesses to create positive change across Lancashire.
“Over the years our funds have been instrumental in helping people in communities overcome barriers and grow, helping shape spaces where Lancastrians can thrive.
The Community Foundation is a fantastic operation whose goals and ambitions align very closely with our own.
“We are extremely proud of our legacy working in partnership with the county’s inspirational business community to facilitate charitable giving and are hugely enthused to be official charity partner for Lancashire Business Day.”
The Community Foundation is an independent charity which promotes local giving to address local disadvantage. The organisation helps individuals, families, companies, charitable trusts and public sectors bodies to connect, support and invest in communities across Lancashire.
Richard Slater, founder of Lancashire Business Day, said: “This agreement is not just about the impact we can make on this one great day but is a long term partnership with Community Foundation which will see us working closely together in the future.
“The Community Foundation is a fantastic operation whose goals and ambitions align very closely with our own. As they fund a diverse range of charitable projects and have a positive impact on so many lives, we felt that they were the best organisation to help Lancashire Business Day make the most widespread positive impact on the people of our county.”
