Commercial property consultants Robert Pinkus & Co. LLP can report that Lancashire's largest building society, The Marsden, is moving to Garstang town centre.

Established in 1860, Marsden Building Society will take the fomer Mobility Smart shop at Unit 2 Cherestanc Square, Park Hill Road, adjacent to the Tourist Information Centre, Co-Op Pharmacy and Booths supermarket. The Marsden has signed a ten-year lease from landlords E H Booth & Co. Ltd. Robert Pinkus & Co. acted on behalf of the landlord.

The new Garstang branch will be the company's 11th office in the County alongside Lytham, Lancaster and Clitheroe and will create four new jobs for the town.

Heather Crinion, head of operations at Marsden Building Society said, "We are delighted to move to a new location and continue, as a local mutual, to extend our branch high street presence across the North West.

"The Society has been interested in Garstang for some time. The town's ethical approach and their continued support of local businesses combine well with our modern, mutual style of service." Joe Assalone, partner at Robert Pinkus & Co. said, "The property is in a superb position within Garstang town centre, benefiting from a free public car park accessed of Windsor Road and easy access to the High Street, via a pedestrian crossing to Stoop's Weind. The Marsden is a well-established and trusted Lancashire company who will be an asset to Garstang and we welcome The Marsden to the town."
