A leading Lancashire dairy farm equipment supplier was a finalist at a national awards event known as ‘the Oscars of farming’.
Shield Agriculture, based at Claughton on Brock, near Garstang, was among the finalists for Agricultural Supplier of the Year at the British Farming Awards.
Organised by Farmers Guardian, the awards recognise the top agricultural businesses from across the UK.
Shield Agriculture director Roger Craig said: “It was an honour to be invited to attend this year’s British Farming Awards and be among the leading lights from the agricultural community.
“Shield Agriculture has been going through a successful period of growth and development, and we’re very proud that our hard work was recognised by the judges.”
The company works nationwide supplying and installing cattle housing equipment for dairy and beef farmers.
It is the UK importer of Kraiburg cow mats and mattresses, as well as the Kraiburg Belmondo range of horse stall mats, working with a number of dealers nationwide.
Roger said: “Our focus is on supplying and installing high-quality, durable equipment that helps farmers to improve the health of their livestock.
“Lying and walking on the specialist rubber flooring that we supply is a crucial part of helping cows to remain healthy and productive, and there’s nothing we love more than seeing the difference our work makes on our customers’ farms.”
The British Farming Awards was held at the Vox conference centre in Birmingham. Among the guests of honour were Clarkson’s Farm stars Jeremy Clarkson and Kaleb Cooper, and Britain’s Got Talent winners the Hawkstone Farmers’ Choir.
