Kirk Group makes Blackburn move
Kirk Group, formerly of Nelson, has moved to larger premises in Blackburn as it continues its international expansion. The Kirk group of companies provides specialist liquid and biogas storage solutions for water, wastewater, anaerobic digestion and biogas infrastructure projects around the world, working in partnership with specialist technology providers, developers, contractors and end users.
Managing director Andrew Peace said that in additional to providing extra space, the new location at Greenbank Technology Park on Challenge Way provides improved transport links. He said: “The manufacturing industry has watched the Kirk Group grow steadily over the past nine years and this move of premises is the natural next step.
"The business began life in 1907 as a small family concern based in Colne, and following investment in 2003 and 2011, has grown into a successful group of companies with an annual turnover of around £25 to £30m."We have 85 direct employees, with many based in our offices in Nelson and due to a lack of room for expansion it has become necessary for us to move. We have completed projects in over 30 countries around the globe and are constantly adding to our portfolio. "These are exciting times for the Kirk Group and we look forward to continued success at our new home in Blackburn.”
