Kingswood Homes is celebrating after winning Residential Developer/Housebuilder of the Year at the Lancashire Property Awards 2026, having been shortlisted in three categories.
The Lancashire housebuilder collected the award at the ceremony at the Mercure Dunkenhalgh, Blackburn, on 22 October. The award recognises its contribution to housing across the region and its commitment to putting customers at the heart of everything it does.
The judges praised Kingswood for developments that prioritise care and innovation. They also noted that the housebuilder has a clear passion for improving lives in Lancashire.
Kingswood was also shortlisted for Residential Development of the Year and the Social Impact Award for Horden Meadow, the latest phase of its flagship Green Hills development in Blackburn.
The win caps a strong year for Kingswood, which retained its Home Builders Federation (HBF) five star customer satisfaction rating for the fifth consecutive year. In the HBF’s survey, 96 per cent of homeowners said they would recommend Kingswood to a friend, which reflects the company’s focus on quality homes and a personal homebuying experience.
Central to that approach is Shape Your Home, Kingswood’s flexible, design led concept that allows buyers to choose from a range of ground and first floor layouts. Customers can tailor their homes to suit their lifestyles, whether they need space for homeworking, a growing family or more accessible living.
Kingswood’s commitment to creating inclusive communities was also reflected in Horden Meadow’s two shortlist places. Delivered in partnership with Together Housing Group, the phase provides 112 affordable homes through shared ownership and affordable rent. Its tenure blind design means there is no visual distinction between Horden Meadow’s affordable homes and those for private sale across the wider Green Hills development. The result is one integrated community with high quality homes and shared green spaces.
Joel Winders, commercial director at Kingswood Homes, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have been named Residential Developer/Housebuilder of the Year and to hear the judges recognise the care that goes into every one of our developments. To win after being shortlisted in three categories is a credit to our team and partners.
“Our focus has always been on creating homes that work for the people who live in them, while building communities where people feel proud to belong. From the flexibility offered by Shape Your Home to our approach to inclusive design at Horden Meadow, we want to make a meaningful difference to our customers and the communities we serve.”
Kingswood will be hoping to add to its awards success at the national Housebuilder Awards 2026 in November, where Shape Your Home is shortlisted in the Best Customer Satisfaction Initiative category. The awards recognise excellence and innovation across the housebuilding industry.
