Key senior appointment to Taylors' employment team

By Taylors Solicitors

20 May 2015

Specialist commercial law firm, Taylors, has appointed Peter Byrne to its employment team.

Peter joins after ten years with Forbes Solicitors where he was a partner and headed up its employment team.

Elaine Hurn, managing partner, said: “Taylors has grown significantly over the past five years with record results in 2014-15. Against the trend, it has also expanded its employment law offering. We have had significant increased demand for the more complex and high value matters, such as board room exits, group restructures, outsourcing and TUPE actions, where a high level of experience and commercial awareness is required.

“He has been named in the Legal 500 as a recommended lawyer for a number of consecutive years and will complement our existing Lancashire-based team, working alongside employment partner, Emma Swan.

Speaking of his appointment, Peter said: “I am delighted to be joining such a quality commercial firm to continue with the expansion of its already-impressive service to the commercial sector across the North West."

Peter’s client base includes SMEs and owner-managed businesses operating in Taylors’ core specialist sectors. He brings an added dimension with his work in the professional services sector. He has over 20 years’ employment law experience; from dealing with complicated TUPE issues and large-scale re-organisations to negotiating high profile exits. He represents clients in Employment Tribunal, running his own advocacy, covering a wide range of claims, including discrimination.
