JMWM Hussain Foundation has confirmed its continued financial support to Blackburn Youth Zone.

The Hussain family through its businesses and Foundation have been a significant financial contributor to Blackburn Youth Zone since its inception.

Blackburn Youth Zone relies on charitable foundations, local businesses and individuals as part of its funding requirements.

Established six years, Blackburn Youth Zone is a Charity that provides a wide range of activities for young people aged 5 to 19 years old or up to 25 with a disability, with an entrance fee of just 50p. Facilities include a canteen, basketball courts, covered football pitch, climbing walls, dance studio, fully-equipped gym, live music room, recording studio and a gaming room.

The Youth Zone focuses on equipping young people with essential life skills to become the best they can be and provides alternative educational programmes to enhance their career opportunities such as DofE, A character development programme developed by ex-service personnel, STEM courses, Junior Science Clubs, Abacus (Creative Maths), NCS, Young Ambassadors and Young Leaders programmes as well as sports leaders and climbing qualifications.

Blackburn Youth Zone goes the extra mile, giving young people a safe and inspiring place to go. Our work aims to strengthen cohesion, raise skills and aspirations and maximise health outcomes for all young people, enabling them to be our future leaders.

Raz Mohammed, CEO at Blackburn Youth Zone said: “We know how important it is for the future of Blackburn with Darwen that young people from all backgrounds mix and forge friendships; that’s why we are particularly delighted to have the continued support of the JMWM Hussain Foundation who share our vision of supporting integration, raising skills and aspirations and supporting more resilient and self-aware youth”

The donations from JMWM Hussain Foundation will be used to continue providing first-class activities for every young person in the area at just 50p per visit. Most importantly, it adds to the diverse range of support from businesses across Blackburn with Darwen. Majid Hussain, a Trustee of JMWM Hussain Foundation said: “The Hussain family is delighted to continue its financial support of Blackburn Youth Zone. Over the last 6 years, the Youth Zone has demonstrated its value to the local community in providing a safe and controlled environment for youngsters to develop skills as well as enjoying leisure opportunities."
