It's back to business in a new year of opportunity

Wow, what an end to 2019! It feels like a great weight has been lifted off our shoulders and we can now finally get back to business.

Democracy has been restored, we have a strong and fully functioning government and can finally get on with delivering at the will of the British people. We will bring a much missed and much needed certainty to life and business, re-establishing a sense of direction.

While the future may frighten some, to many it is a time not of uncertainty or impending doom, but one of hope and excitement, opportunity and one of change.

John F Kennedy once wrote that “Change is the law of life. And those who look only to the past or present are certain to miss the future” and our future looks bright.

I work in the electrical contracting industry from a more specialised safety services/education and training perspective and say to all those walking through our doors that “it has never been a more exciting time to be alive. Opportunities exist everywhere”.

Change is coming but change doesn’t have to be scary or bad.

Change is coming but change doesn’t have to be scary or bad. While it has been an incredibly tiring and draining period for us all, as a business leader, I am minded of the words of St. Francis of Assisi which I think are particularly apt. “Where there is discord, may we bring harmony. Where there is error, may we bring truth. Where there is doubt, may we bring faith. And where there is despair, may we bring hope”.

Happy New Year folks!
