Invest in Lancashire Guide launched in capital

The Lancashire Enterprise Partnership has marked Lancashire Day with the publication of its first ever guide to investing in the red rose county.

The LEP has debuted the guide, which can be viewed online here, at a VIP event in London.

An audience of businesspeople, entrepreneurs and property developers in London and the South East will see what it means ‘to live, work, play and think in the greatest county in the North’.

David Taylor, deputy chair of the LEP, said: “We are very excited to be launching the Invest in Lancashire Guide and taking our message that Lancashire is the place for growth to London-based investors."

The guide highlights some of Lancashire’s specific assets and opportunities, at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, and outlines that the county is the second largest economy in the North West with more than 52,000 businesses generating £30bn a year.

It also covers the world leading engineers, manufacturers and universities based in the area, as well as the county's excellent transport links.

We have a fantastic story to tell that appeals to investors in both the UK and internationally.

David added: “There are internationally significant opportunities for investment here, such as our four Enterprise Zones which combine into one overarching investment destination, the Lancashire Advanced Manufacturing and Energy Cluster.

“We have a fantastic story to tell that appeals to investors in both the UK and internationally.”

Lancashire also used its special day to announce its countywide bid to be UK City of Culture 2025.

Lancashire 2025 will mix the "urban, coastal, countryside, industrial, historical and technological" part of "our imagined, virtual city", bid director Debbi Lander said.

The winning bid will be announced in December 2021. Tony Attard, chairman of the bid, said Lancashire’s vision was “truly inclusive”.
