International success at the double
Blackpool Airport-headquartered global aviation business Helispeed has landed two major international contracts.
The company has agreed a 12-month deal with Moroccan-based Heliconia Aero Solutions to support the company with the provision of qualified helicopter pilots.
And it has signed a two-year agreement with Abu Dhabi Aviation to provide qualified and experienced pilots to support the business’ growing operations in the Middle East and beyond.
Aviation support specialist Helispeed works with global commercial operators, government agencies, maintenance organisations and lessors and brokers, providing pilots for both short and long-term operations.
The Moroccan agreement will see Helispeed provide Marrakesh-headquartered Heliconia with pilots from its HeliTrax database of more than 800 highly-trained and vetted pilots, based across the world.
The pilots provided will operate predominantly in Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal.
Helispeed operations director Gemma Walker said: “We vet all of our pilots, ensuring they have the right experience in flying and navigating the specific aircraft provided.
We are proud to become a close partner of an organisation as professional as Abu Dhabi Aviation.
“We also take care of the administrative, HR and logistical tasks associated with placing pilots, making life easier for operators.”
Commenting on the Abu Dhabi Aviation deal, HeliSpeed chief executive Geoff Packer said: “We are proud to become a close partner of an organisation as professional as Abu Dhabi Aviation, and to support their operational growth plans with tangible flex staffing solutions.”
Abu Dhabi Aviation is the largest commercial helicopter operator in the Middle East based in the UAE, employing more than 1,200 personnel, operating and maintaining in excess of 50 helicopters and a fleet of Dash 8 Aircraft worldwide.
