How to get to the top of Google and why it matters

With billions of searches every month, Google is overwhelmingly the number one way that consumers find products, services and brands online.

But it’s also worth noting that 90 per cent of searchers won’t look beyond the first page of results. In short, if you’re not listed on Google, and you’re not on the first page, you’re all but invisible in today’s marketplace.

There are two ways to get visible and a ‘page one’ ranking: paid and organic.

A tailored pay-per-click advertising campaign gets you to the top immediately.

It’s cost-effective, because you only pay when a user clicks, calls or follows the link to your website.

The other method is organic, which involves optimising your website in a way that means search engines, Google included, choose to rank it highly.
