How Blackpool businesses are benefiting from a reduced Carbon Footprint

As businesses face growing pressure to adopt sustainable practices, the Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy are helping Blackpool based businesses lead the way towards a greener future.

Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy’s fully funded initiative is designed to reduce energy costs and cut carbon emissions, making sustainability an achievable goal for businesses in Blackpool.

Sustainability consultants Megan Tucker and Caitlin Sanderson enjoy going out to visit business premises to carry out comprehensive energy audits and are proud to be able to provide personalised decarbonisation action plans.

These bespoke plans provide practical steps and recommendations tailored to businesses operations, which help to embrace sustainability and drive impactful change.

Megan and Caitlin have already supported many Blackpool-based businesses on their journey towards reducing energy consumption and adopting greener practices. Here are just a few examples:

Hotel 242: Introduced motion-sensor lighting and upgraded to an energy-efficient freezer, resulting in significant energy savings and streamlined operations.

Top Gun Tools and Fixings: Enhanced energy efficiency by adopting monitoring systems, encouraging behavioural shifts, converting to LED lighting, and transitioning to electric vehicles.

Notarianni: Reduced energy waste by installing daylight-saving sensors, motion sensors, and voltage optimisation across their premises.

Solar panels and other innovative solutions have also proven to be highly effective for many local businesses, reducing dependence on traditional energy sources and cutting operational costs.

Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy has proven to benefit many companies by delivering impressive results, such as an average energy cost saving of 42 per cent, an average reduction in energy usage by 64% and an average decrease in carbon emissions by 57 per cent. These achievements are equivalent to removing 247 diesel cars from the road for a year.

This fully funded business support is available to Blackpool businesses, offering opportunities to make tangible, lasting changes. This initiative not only helps businesses to save money and reduce waste but also play an active role in Blackpool’s transition to a more sustainable future.

Get in touch with the Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy today to help build a greener, more energy-efficient future for your business.
