Horizons Homecare partners with Blackpool Growth Business Academy to drive expansion

Blackpool based Horizons Homecare, a rapidly growing provider of private personal care for the elderly and individuals with disabilities, have enlisted the expertise of the Blackpool Growth Business Academy to support their expansion plans.

Founded in 2024 by directors James Galler and Russell Crossley, Horizons Homecare set out with a clear mission: to redefine industry standards and enhance the quality of homecare through personalised support.

In just six months, the company had firmly established themselves as a leading provider in Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre, offering private personal care for the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

While also receiving a significant number of enquiries per month leading them to implementing a waiting list system to maintain the highest standards of care.

Recognising the challenges of scaling effectively while upholding their commitment to quality, Russell Crossley sought guidance from Nikki Hesford, a scaling specialist at the Blackpool Growth Business Academy.

Nikki provided invaluable support in crucial areas, including digital advertising strategies on Meta and Google, equipping Horizons Homecare with the tools to reach and convert their target audience more efficiently.

A pivotal moment in their growth journey came in November when the Horizons Homecare team attended a Meta advertising masterclass.

Russell said: “Before the course, only five of our 56 ads were effectively targeting the right audience.

“After implementing the strategies we learned, we saw a dramatic improvement;14 high-quality leads, significantly reducing our acquisition costs. This directly contributed to onboarding ten new clients.”

With the continued support of the Blackpool Growth Business Academy, Horizons Homecare is now also exploring expansion into Lancaster and Preston.

Russell added: “It’s about learning from all of our past experiences.

“We have a robust, but new model, and we will continue consulting with Nikki and the academy’s growth specialists to refine our approach and overcome obstacles.”

Blackpool Growth Business Academy offer fully funded support to Blackpool based businesses, helping them grow and scale through expert-led advice and support.
