We can confirm that Phil Heyworth, managing director of JD Engineering Ltd will be taking over from Shaun Lloyd as the chairman of Nelson Football Club.
Heyworth has been at the club previously as a sponsor and now returns to lead The Admirals as we look to increase our standing within Nelson, Pendle and beyond.
The local lad and businessman has been at the helm of his company, JD Engineering, for over 7 years now and the company have become an advocate for community support and cohesion and these are values that all at Nelson FC share.
Heyworth said “Nelson Football Club has been close to my heart for some time now. I’m looking forward to the challenge this season holds for the club on the pitch as well as the work we want to do off the pitch.
I want Nelson Football Club to be a asset to the local community and for the club to work alongside local organisations to support the development and improvement of Nelson and Pendle.”
Nelson travel to Golcar United in their first away fixture of the season after a convincing 3-0 win against Steeton on Tuesday.
