HealthLink, one of Europe’s leading specialists in medical device logistics, has officially launched operations in Blackburn.
This expansion marks a key milestone in HealthLink’s global growth strategy, offering end-to-end logistics solutions tailored specifically to the needs of the UK’s rapidly growing life sciences sector.
Operated by Staci UK from its state-of-the-art, ISO 13485-certified fulfilment centre at Frontier Park in Blackburn, Lancashire, HealthLink UK will deliver a comprehensive suite of services including third-party logistics (3PL), climate-controlled warehousing, fulfilment, distribution, customer service, back-office support, and global VAT deferment.
These localised fulfilment services will help strengthen the supply chain for medical device manufacturers across the UK, reducing lead times, improving efficiency, and ensuring regulatory compliance with stringent UK and EU regulatory standards in a fast-moving market.
Part of the Staci Group, HealthLink supports over 160 life science manufacturers globally through strategic distribution hubs in Memphis, Tennessee in North America, and Waalwijk, the Netherlands, complemented by an extensive network of international storage locations.
This global footprint now expands into the UK with the launch of the new operations, strengthening HealthLink’s commitment to efficient, localised supply chain solutions for the life sciences sector.
The UK operations will be headed up by Wayne Chapman, the serving CEO of Staci UK, who brings extensive experience in global logistics and supply chain optimisation to the role.
Wayne said: "We're excited to bring our specialist services to the UK and support the logistics demands of a rapidly growing medical devices market.
“With the backing of Staci’s infrastructure and our dedicated team of industry experts, we’re uniquely positioned to enhance the supply chain for critical medical equipment.”
The decision to launch in the UK was driven by the significant growth of the local medical devices market, which was valued at approximately $17.67bn in 2023 and is projected to reach $31.94bn by 2032.
With established operations in both the Netherlands and North America, this expansion not only capitalises on market potential but also strengthens synergies between HealthLink and its sister company, Staci UK. This synergy ensures seamless service integration, faster time-to-market, and compliance with stringent UK and EU regulatory standards.
The collaboration combines HealthLink’s sector-specific capabilities with Staci’s multichannel logistics expertise, enabling both firms to better serve the evolving needs of healthcare and pharmaceutical supply chains.
It also allows Staci to further diversify its logistics offering while leveraging the expertise of both organisations’ highly experienced teams to enhance the delivery of critical life-saving medical technologies across the UK.
