Healthcare specialist eyes market expansion
Preston-based MDS Healthcare is looking to increase its capacity, double its pharmacy operations, and hire more staff after tying up a new bank deal.MDS provides medication through its wholesale and logistics business to around 100 care homes in the region, from its specialist care homes hub in Clayton-le-Woods, as well as running two pharmacy operations in Preston. Through several alliances, it also operates two further pharmacy operations in the region, all under the umbrella trading name 'Pharmalogic Chemists'.
A new customer to Yorkshire Bank, MDS Healthcare has secured a working capital facility which will help purchase two new pharmacies in Blackburn. The deal was delivered by Paul Swanick, relationship manager at the Bank’s Business and Private Banking Centre in Preston.Javid Patel, commercial director of MDS Healthcare, said: “As a company with a growing reputation in our field we have ambitions to expand further in the coming years.
