Happy Creative supports Blackpool Samaritans' Pay for a Day campaign

Happy Creative, a Blackpool-based marketing company, have been supporting the Blackpool Samaritans’ ‘Pay for a Day’ campaign since 2018. The company has chosen to donate every year on May 21st, ensuring that someone is always there to listen when it matters most.

It costs Blackpool Samaritans £192 a day to run and maintain their branch and shop, ensuring that anyone in distress has a safe space to turn to. In Blackpool alone, they receive and respond to over 70 calls, emails, or text messages each day.

With a dedicated team of around 70 volunteers, Blackpool Samaritans provide a vital lifeline for those struggling with mental health. Rather than offering advice, their volunteers simply listen, creating a judgement-free space where individuals can share their thoughts and feelings.

For many, this support can be life-changing, and in some cases, life-saving.

In 2023, Happy Creative was appointed by Blackpool Council as their strategic marketing and branding partner following a successful tender win for an SPF-funded initiative.

With social value at the heart of the contract, Happy Creative has been working alongside the Business Growth Team to develop and promote the Blackpool Net Zero Business Academy and the Blackpool Growth Business Academy – both initiatives designed to create a stronger, more sustainable future for businesses and communities.

As part of this partnership, the Business Growth Team selected a significant date, 29th August, for Happy Creative to make another Pay for a Day donation, further recognising the social value embedded in their work.
