Ribchester-based Green Shield Group is to undertake a renewable installation project which will give homeowners at a new development in Essex the chance to reduce their energy bills to less than £300 per year.

The company has been recruited by Randall Watts, which is building the 92-property development in Chelmsford.

The scheme will feature an all-electric set-up, eliminating carbon emissions and giving homeowners the ability to spend as little as £296 a year on energy bills.

Green Shield Group will manage the solar roof and internal installation, multi-floor underfloor heating, Samsung air source heat pumps and cylinders at the development.

The technology installed provides the most value when completed during the build phase, also meaning the developer takes on the investment and the customer is able to reap the rewards providing annual household bills that could be up to 88 per cent lower than the average UK home.

The homes provide numerous long term benefits by utilising electricity as the primary energy source. All-electric homes combat climate change and promote sustainable living providing superior energy efficiency compared to those homes that rely on multiple sources.

The technology installed by Green Shield Group will allow homeowners to generate their own clean electricity and in some cases achieve energy independence.

The comprehensive combination of solar power, air source heat pumps, and battery storage maximises energy efficiency, grid reliance and in turn leads to significant cost savings.

Jonathan Harrison, Green Shield Group said: “Delivering renewable technologies such as solar that reduce consumers and businesses energy costs is simply what we do.

"We’re really looking forward to continuing our working relationship with the Randall Watts team and witnessing the success of the development following launch.”

Dan Jones of Randall Watts Construction said: “Hanningfield Park is one of the most innovative, sustainable developments in the country currently. We believe the construction and installation combination, although not the first by any means, is something that will become mandatory in the coming years which is why we wanted to bring forward a development that was simply ahead of the curve highlighting the benefits of focusing on renewable energy sources to our homeowners.

“Working on this with Green Shield Group has enabled us to deliver a high-quality housing development that has allowed us to harness the power of solar in all of our properties, reducing the cost to homeowners. Green Shield Group has been an integral part of this process sharing their knowledge and expertise and delivering a high technology renewable energy solution.”

Green Shield Group specialises in delivering carbon reduction strategies and solutions  for businesses across the UK. The business operates across a multitude of sectors from manufacturing, motoring, education and local authorities simplifying the transition to sustainable solutions for clients whilst demonstrating commercial gains.
