Good advice and good service sees True Bearing triumph

The judges said: “An established business, with a demonstrable passion for its work, clients, and staff, True Bearing is still on the growth curve.

“There is a strong community and corporate social responsibility ethos which is in evidence throughout the county. This is an outstanding business.”

“We're chuffed to bits to win the Best Financial Firm award,” says George Critchley, the company’s chairman. "The judges have it right!"

Our growth has accelerated this last six years. We have grown three times over in that period.

We are passionate about our work. We are the sort of people who lie awake at night thinking of ways to do things better.

We said at our launch, in 2003, that if we just gave good advice and good service, we would be almost unique amongst financial firms. 15 years later that is even more true.

The public today demand good service, they want it at a time to suit them and at a fair price. They like to deal with someone they can trust, who understands their needs. Amongst IFA firms like ours, they need an adviser who knows their stuff, and a support team who can help them deliver.

22.9% growth 2016-2017 - 99% client retention rate - 7 years of IiP Gold awards

True Bearing is a people business. It utilises the Investors in People framework to measure its people processes. In 2017 the IiP Gold award was obtained for the third consecutive time.

True Bearing is Corporately Chartered. This means it sits in the top 10% nationally of financial advisory firms by qualification. True Bearing gives independent financial advice. This means it reviews the whole of the market before making any recommendations.

The successful Last Choir Singing competition was created by True Bearing to put something back into the community. This event is for all Junior Schools in Lancashire. Now in its fourth year, over 50 schools and 2,000 children have got involved, in 2018.

Eleven schools have just qualified, through regional heats, for the Grand Final at Blackburn in June. BBC Radio Lancashire will be there, as will over a thousand spectators. The last word comes from one of our clients, Mr H of Bury: "I am a new client of True Bearing and I have nothing but praise concerning the way that I have been treated. Mark O'Neill appears to have all the right qualities, in relation to knowledge and experience. I would not have any qualms in recommending True Bearing to anyone.”
