Glitzy comedy event drives fundraising efforts

Family, friends and customers of a prestigious car leasing company revved up their fundraising mojos as they help raise an impressive £10,000 for a local charity.

Tom Preston, director at Hippo Motor Group, said: “We wanted to host an event to celebrate our successful journey since opening, and also raise money for a great local charity.

Ticket sales, a prize draw and a huge £5,000 donation from Hippo Motor Group saw a grand total of £10,256 raised overall; a fantastic achievement for all involved, highlighted even more by the positive feedback from guests who attended the evening.

“We’re delighted at the generous amount raised and can’t thank them enough for their time and efforts. The evening ran smoothly, the comedians and singer were great, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.”

Antony Anderson, marketing manager for the group, said: “The idea behind the event was to host a classy and stylish comedy evening, giving guests the chance to relax, network with other business owners in the area, and dig deep for Pendleside Hospice.” “We’re overwhelmed by the total amount which was raised, we’d like to thank everyone who attended and supported us and are already thinking about how we can beat this next year!”
