Get ready, Truckfest North West, we’re coming for you!

truckfest-01.jpg

We’ve been here, there and everywhere this summer, attending numerous truck shows up and down the country – but we aren’t finished just yet. Next up is Truckfest North West, which will be held at The Royal Cheshire Showground in Knutsford on the 17th and 18th of September – and we can’t wait to see you there!

Established in 1963, Truckfest remains Europe’s largest trucking festival. With a host of family-friendly performances and attractions, including monster trucks, arena stunt shows, children’s characters, exhilarating rides and the chance to see some incredible vehicles – the weekend is not to be missed for local truck enthusiasts.

We’re looking forward to bringing along some of our favourite vehicles from the F&W fleet, including ‘Albert’, who will be getting a rare trip out of our HQ, Albion House!

Albert, who commemorates a core aspect of our company’s heritage, represents our F&W operations during the post-war period, whereby similar vehicles would have been used to transport textiles and associated products from the Lancashire cotton mills.

Abert might look a little out of place out and about on the roads in 2022, which is why we keep him for display purposes only, but that hasn’t stopped him from becoming a firm favourite amongst staff and visitors.

We’ll also be bringing along our brilliant Scania 3 Series, which was restored in 2016. The Scania 3 Series was the backbone of our fleet in the late 1990s and early 2000s – and represents a significant period of growth for F&W.

Making up one of our favourite Heritage Collection vehicles, the Scania 3 Series was originally purchased in 2005, before being retired in 2010. The truck now represents one of the last incarnations of the old F&W livery, which features the iconic hand-painted sign writing – before we rebranded in the early 2000s.

“It’s always exciting to be able to get together with fellow truck enthusiasts, and the atmosphere at Truckfest is second to none”, says F&W Operations Strategy Director, Daniel Wood. “We’re bringing along numerous other trucks from our fleet as well, and have our fingers crossed for some more wins from our team!”

If you’d like to get yourself tickets for Truckfest North West 2022, then you can do so here – and we’ll see you there!
