Local people looking to develop their interview and presentation skills are being invited to book onto a free workshop taking place at the Hyndburn Jobs Fair on Thursday 20th March.

The Jobs Fair will take place between 9am and 3pm in Accrington Town Hall, with the ‘Interview Preparation and Presentation Skills Workshop’ running from 10am to 12pm.

Delivered by experienced coach and public speaking expert, Liz Boswell, the workshop is designed to give those attending, the confidence and tools to shine during their interviews and presentations.

The topics which will be covered during the two-hour workshop include making a winning first impression, how to answer interview questions with ease, delivering presentations with impact and how to boost your confidence through practice.

Between 1pm and 3pm, Hyndburn Borough Council will also be running a ‘Working from Home’ workshop delivered by Kat Rutter from ‘The Work From Home Hub’, which will explore how to find and apply for work from home roles, as well as providing tips and tricks to enhance applications, plus much more. Very limited places are remaining for this workshop.

For those not taking part in the workshops, there will be a fantastic range of opportunities to meet regional and local businesses at the Jobs Fair.

To allow those wanting to attend on their lunch break, the event will run continuously between 9am and 3pm, and for those that are unable to attend, a follow up list of the live job vacancies and employers will be available to view online.

There will also be a special appearance at the event from Emma Rothwell, a proud Accringtonian who set up a thriving online business and featured on this year’s BBC The Apprentice.

Councillor Scott Brerton, portfolio holder for business and growth, said: “The interview and presentation skills workshop is a fantastic opportunity to build your confidence, impress potential employers and take your career to the next level.
