A family-run Fylde property business which began life in a garden shed seven years ago has triumphed at a major industry awards ceremony.

Rowan Block & Estate Management, which has offices in Lytham and Kendal, took home two awards at the national 2026 ACE Awards run by The Property Institute.

The ACE Awards celebrate excellence in property management and Rowan won the Managing Agent of the Year (1,001-3,000 units), while property manager Amy Goodall collected the individual Outstanding Customer Service Award’

Baroness Dianne Hayter, Chair at The Property Institute, said: “The Awards recognise those who consistently set the benchmark for excellence in property management. Their achievements reflect not only technical expertise and leadership, but also the care, commitment, and responsibility that make a lasting difference to the lives of residents.”

Rowan Block & Estate Management was founded by husband-and-wife team, Chris and Sophie Brook in 2019.

From starting in their garden shed with just six clients, Rowan’s 14-strong team now manages around 130 residential apartment blocks, housing estates, and retirement complexes on the wider Fylde coast, Lancashire, and Cumbria. They look after a complex range of issues including fire safety, property health and safety, contractor management, long-term maintenance planning, major works project management, service charge budgeting and accounting, property insurance, resident communication, and lease compliance.

Co-founder Sophie Brook said: “We only entered two categories and were originally thrilled just to be shortlisted. To win them both was a real shock but shows how much the team’s hard work has paid off. We’re especially pleased that Amy’s work has been recognised nationally, and it’s really exciting and a wonderful achievement for her personally because she’s still early in her career.

“Chris and I started Rowan because we wanted to build a quality business with great people, rooted in value and genuine care. Our aim is for clients to be properly looked after, and for our team to have good careers, feel respected, and be rewarded for their hard work. To win both these awards is testament to this and we’re very proud of the Rowan team who all work so hard for our clients.”
