Freya Grayston has recently been appointed as trainee solicitor at trusted and leading law firm, Waddington & Son Solicitors.

She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Sociology at Edge Hill University after having an interest in these subjects throughout school and college. After college, Freya decided to pursue her career in the legal sector and gained a Graduate Diploma of Law at the University of Central Lancashire and then followed on to study the Legal Practice Course at BPP University. Throughout her learning, she further developed her interest, which reasserted her passion to become a solicitor as she thoroughly enjoys making a positive difference in people’s lives, personally and professionally.

Freya has always had a keen interest in law, sociology and the behaviour of people and this is where her interest in the law sector stemmed from. She started her journey by gaining work experience in June 2021 with a local firm, which gave her insight into the everyday life of a solicitor. Following this, Freya was offered a role as a legal assistant in their Abuse Claims and Inquest department before progressing to the Family department with the firm.

In November 2023, Freya began working at Waddington and Son Solicitors as a paralegal in their Family Department. She says she chose Waddington and Son as it is a well-established firm in her local area with a friendly work environment, culture and there are plenty of opportunities at Waddington and Son to grow.

“All the staff have made me feel extremely valued, which is important when wanting to progress and develop your legal career,” said Freya.

As a trainee solicitor, Freya says she is most looking forward to exploring new legal sectors within the firm, which will enable her to further develop and have a better working relationship with other colleagues whilst meeting new people through different networking events and at Court.

“I am thrilled with my new role as a trainee solicitor at Waddington and Son. I am looking forward to moving one step closer to becoming a qualified Solicitor and I am excited to see what the future holds. I am extremely grateful to the Directors at Waddington and Son for giving me this opportunity,” said Freya.

Congratulations to Freya in her new role!
