Four Lancashire businesses have been recognised nationally at the Enterprise Vision Awards (EVAS), demonstrating the strength and diversity of female entrepreneurship across the county.
TP Financial Solutions in Morecambe won Best Business, A R Tattersall / The Green Cow in Chorley took Family Business, Glazey Days in Fleetwood won Customer Service and YOLO Wellbeing in Preston was named Health and Beauty Business of the Year.
The awards formed part of two days of national business activity at Blackpool's Winter Gardens, following the launch of SheChain Live, a new business growth event designed to connect women led businesses directly with buyers, industry leaders and organisations that can help them grow.
Businesses and organisations represented among finalists, sponsors and guests account for more than £80bn in annual turnover, highlighting the scale of commercial influence and potential opportunity brought together in Blackpool.
Tarnia Elsworth and Annabel Lumsden of TP Financial Solutions took home the Best Business Award. The female led financial planning firm provides specialist advice across pensions, divorce, inheritance and long-term care, building its reputation around expert, relationship led financial advice.
The independent EVAS judges recognised a business combining commercial success and strategic thinking with a strong sense of purpose in a traditionally male-dominated and often low-trust sector.
Tarnia and Annabel said: "We couldn't be prouder of winning Best Business at the EVAs. We were blown away by the judges' kind words and thank the whole EVAs team for this wonderful recognition."
Lynsey Tattersall of A R Tattersall / The Green Cow in Withnell was named Family Business winner, recognising a Lancashire farming family that has used diversification to create a growing rural enterprise. The family developed The Green Cow Farm Shop to sell its sustainably farmed meat directly to customers, creating a farm-to-fork model with provenance and traceability at its heart.
Lynsey said: "Winning the EVAs Family Business Award means so much to us. It is recognition of all the years of hard work creating a thriving rural business with family at the heart of it and we couldn't be prouder to have won. In order to grow our family farm into a thriving business we knew diversification was key. The Green Cow Farm Shop was born. The business is a real team effort with all of the family playing a part. We are all completely invested in building a resilient, successful business for the future."
Helen Taylor, owner of Glazey Days in Fleetwood, won the Customer Service Award. The creative business has developed far beyond its ceramics roots, with its services including highly personal life-casting and bereavement work. Helen's approach to customer care and her ability to respond to customers at some of the most difficult moments in their lives were among the qualities recognised by the EVAS judges.
Helen said: "Winning a Customer Service Award at the EVAS means so much more than just recognition for the work I do every day. It represents the strength, resilience and quiet dedication of the women who show up consistently to make a real difference for others. This award is a reminder that the care we put into every interaction matters and that women supporting and elevating one another creates lasting impact."
Cheryle Britton, founder and director of Preston based YOLO Wellbeing, was named Health and Beauty Business of the Year. The business delivers workplace wellbeing services designed to help organisations make employee wellbeing and self-care more accessible.
The EVAS judges recognised a business combining care, compassion and purpose with strong commercial performance and growth.
Cheryle said: "I'm absolutely delighted and humbled to win the EVAs Health & Beauty Business of the Year Award, alongside so many worthy finalists. I'm incredibly proud of what we're building and the difference we're making, helping more people prioritise their wellbeing and self-care. This award means so much to me."
The four awards followed the inaugural SheChain Live, extending the EVAS into two days of national business activity in Blackpool. The event was created to tackle a recurring barrier facing women-led businesses: not a lack of ambition, but a lack of access to the people and opportunities that can accelerate growth.
Through direct conversations with buyers, keynote speakers, expert panels, pitching opportunities and practical business sessions, SheChain Live brought emerging businesses into the same rooms as established organisations and industry decision-makers.
Coral Horn, founder of the Enterprise Vision Awards and SheChain Live, said: "Lancashire has some exceptional women building strong, ambitious businesses, and these four winners demonstrate the breadth of entrepreneurship we have across the county. But recognition is only part of the picture.
"If we want businesses to grow, we need to create access – to buyers, procurement opportunities, expertise, partnerships and the people who can open the next door. That's why bringing SheChain Live and the EVAS together in Blackpool matters. We're celebrating what women have already achieved while creating opportunities for what they could achieve next. We're proud to bring a national business audience to Lancashire and our ambition for 2027 is even bigger."
Lancashire's winners were joined by other north west successes, including Janine Rees of Vanliners in Wigan, Business Woman of the Year; Michaela Wain of Design & Build UK and Women in Construction in Bolton, Diverse Business winner; Dr Penny Trayner of BPM Rehab and Brains Powered by Music CIC in Manchester, Not For Profit winner; and Helen Lord of Rehome in Widnes, Sustainable Business winner.
SheChain Live returns to Blackpool on Thursday 23 September 2027, followed by the Enterprise Vision Awards on Friday 24 September 2027. Businesses interested in sponsorship, exhibiting, procurement opportunities or strategic partnerships are invited to get involved.
