Stevens Traceability, leading experts in weight-based traceability systems for food manufacturers, has been awarded the esteemed, internationally recognised ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification.

ISO 27001 is an international standard for best-practice information technology security management systems (ISMS) and is the definitive standard for information technology security worldwide.

After undergoing rigorous assessment by external assessors, the prestigious certification was awarded to Blackburn-based Stevens Traceability on 2nd April 2019

David Astridge, operations manager at Stevens Traceability said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the BS EN ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Information Technology Security certification which demonstrates our commitment to keeping confidential information secure and builds a culture of data security within the company.

"This certification enhances our existing BS EN ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems certification and our UKAS BS EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation which we are proud of. We will continue to develop best practices and to strengthen our processes and procedures in order to keep data, staff, and premises secure.”

Mike Wynburg, managing director at Stevens Traceability added: “In the software and traceability industry, data is crucial, and the security of that data is paramount. As a business, we strive to have the best security protocols in place to protect data and show our commitment to the security of customer and employee information. Being awarded the BS EN ISO/IEC 27001:2013 certification reflects the hard work of the team at Stevens and their commitment to best practice.”

Stevens traceability systems and weighing equipment have been used in food manufacturing plants for over 160 years. The Lancashire firm continues to develop its staff, products, and services to support the evolving needs of the food manufacturing industry.
