The latest edition of Lancashire Business View was officially launched at Northern Trust owned The Beehive business centre in Blackburn.
The sold out event was sponsored by IT firm Seriun and supported by Blackburn with Darwen Council.
Lancashire Business View chairman Richard Slater opened the event with a short interview with Nick Hemmings, regional property manager of hosts Northern Trust, followed by a number of other speakers who had either featured in the magazine or supported it.
These included:
- Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Phil Riley on the need for a Lancashire mayor
- Bryan Welch, of Perspex International in Darwen, and Nicola Clayton from Blackburn College on investments and skills in the borough
- Mark Edwards, of Seriun, spoke about the opportunities AI presents for business, and the dangers of being left behind
- Dr Michele Lawty-Jones, from the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub, spoke about the local skills agenda
- Four of the stars of our magazine innovation and change feature, Lucia Arnone of Vital Synergy, Salim Lorgat of Nfive UK, Andy Henderson of SUMMIT and Judson Smythe of MGS Plastics talked about how innovation has helped to grow their businesses.
Richard Slater said: "Yet again it was great to spend time talking to people from local businesses and bringing our latest magazine to life.
"The event sold out, which just goes to show how valuable it is for the people who get the opportunity to come out and see us and meet some new people.
"These events are about giving people the chance to make new connections and start conversations that can lead to new business deals, growth or employment, all before 11am. What more could you ask for?"
