Blackburn headquartered law firm Farleys Solicitors has stepped up once again to support the local community, making another donation through the firm’s charitable foundation the Farleys Foundation, to support a charity for young homeless people in the Blackburn area.

The firm have made a pledge of £2,500 to local charity Nightsafe, to support their recently announced £100,000 fundraising appeal to make up the shortfall they face in 2020 as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The charity, like many others is feeling the impact of the virus with key fundraising events being cancelled through social distancing issues and a number of their grant applications being deferred in the current climate.

Nightsafe has three homes to provide shelter for vulnerable young people aged 16-24, alongside operating day and night shelters, and is just one of a small amount of charities dedicated to helping young homeless people in Lancashire.

The day and night shelters are currently closed at the moment through health and safety issues from the pandemic, but are looking to reopen as soon as restrictions allow.

Jan Larkin, CEO at Nightsafe said: “Nightsafe is delighted to have received this wonderful donation from the Farleys Foundation, it will make a massive difference in enabling us to support homeless young people across Blackburn with Darwen at this crucial time. Huge thanks to everyone at the Foundation for their kindness.”

Ian Liddle, partner at Farleys Solicitors commented: “Supporting our local community has always been a key part of our business objectives. Whether through fundraising activities across our offices, providing free legal advice to those in need, or our efforts to improve the environment we live in, we aim to make a real difference to people’s lives and local communities.

"It’s humbling to hear just how much our donation will go towards helping such an important cause with Nightsafe and we’re grateful to be able to have the opportunity to make a difference, particularly at difficult times like these."
