On Thursday, 7 November, Farleys Solicitors held their seventh annual festive shopping evening in support of CancerHelp Preston.

Since beginning in 2017, this popular event has proven to be more popular every year. Hosted for the first time at St Pius X Catholic Preparatory School, the larger venue provided a charming and festive atmosphere, perfect for kicking off the festive season.

This year, the event attracted more attendees than ever, all eager to explore an exciting selection of stalls featuring delicious treats, beverages, stylish accessories, and unique gifts. Regular favourites such as Sunday Best, The Cheese Counter, Whalley Wine Shop, Silversmith, Hayley Elizabeth Art, Tropics, Willow Tree Acre, and Raffia were there to offer plenty of variety to shoppers.

After indulging in some early Christmas shopping, guests enjoyed a warming fish and chip supper, whilst catching up with old friends.

A raffle followed, with an impressive selection of prizes generously contributed by stallholders.

All proceeds from the event, including ticket sales, raffle entries, and a share of stallholder profits, are being donated to CancerHelp Preston, a charity dedicated to supporting local individuals and families affected by cancer.

The funds raised will help CancerHelp continue providing critical services such as counselling and therapy, empowering people facing a cancer diagnosis to find hope, resilience, and joy in life.

This year’s event raised over £2,700 with match funding from the Farleys Foundation bringing the total to an impressive £5,500. The result surpasses last year’s total, and Farleys are hopeful that the event will continue to grow, raising even more in the years to come.

Antonia Love, partner and family law specialist at Farleys, said: "Our annual Christmas shopping evening is always a fantastic opportunity to support an amazing cause, and this year was no different. It was wonderful to see guests leaving happy, with their shopping bags full and their spirits lifted after a great evening.

"I’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the event; our guests, stallholders, and donors for making it such a success. Here’s to an even bigger and better event next year!”
