North West law firm, Farleys Solicitors held its annual St Patrick’s Day celebration on Friday 14th March.

The event welcomed 140 guests made up of some of the clients and contacts of the firm for an afternoon of food, drinks, and live entertainment at the 1968 Lounge at Accrington Stanley.

Alongside the afternoon’s entertainment, provided by local musician David Jaggs, Farleys ran a charity auction and raffle to raise money for Cash for Kids Lancashire.

Prizes on offer included theatre tickets, football hospitality, concert tickets, clay pigeon shooting packages, holidays and more. Several prizes were subject to a bidding war by generous guests including a big teddy that eventually sold for just under £1,000.

All of this contributed towards a final total raised of £8,500. These funds will go to Cash for Kids Lancashire, a charity which provides grant funding to vulnerable and disabled children in the county. The funds will be specifically donated to the charity’s Cash for Kids Day campaign, which this year is fighting holiday hunger, ensuring that no child goes hungry during the school holidays.

Ian Liddle, managing partner at Farleys, said: "“We’ve been running our St Patrick’s Day fundraiser for more than 15 years now and every year we’re blown away by the response and the generosity of our guests, without whom we wouldn’t be able to raise these exceptional funds for Cash for Kids.

“We’d like to thank every one of our guests who contributed to the total and helped make the afternoon a great success. The event has turned into something of an institution and a staple in the business calendar over the years and we’re pleased to be able to continue to use what is a great afternoon of hospitality and catching up with our business contacts to also raise vital funds for an important cause.”

Rosalina Lobo, charity manager at Cash for Kids Lancashire, said: "Thank you ever so much to the incredible team at Farleys Solicitors and all their amazing guests at their St Patricks Day annual celebration. You have all been so very generous. We are so grateful to every single person that helped generate this phenomenal donation to our charity, for all your kindness and support.

“These vital funds will go towards grant funding as part of Cash for Kids Day to help tackle holiday hunger, to help local children and young people that have a lack of access to food and fun activities during the school holidays. This will enable schools, sports groups, smaller charities and community groups to apply for funding on behalf of the children they support, so they can provide disadvantaged children with one good healthy meal that day and have given them a chance to socialise and take part in fun activities.

“Thank you so much again to Farleys and friends, we love the relationship we have with you and the continued generosity we have had from you over the years. You are doing wonderful things for local disadvantaged children and young people across Lancashire and truly making a difference.”
