Experience counts when recruiting top apprentices

As an employer, there are many advantages and incentives available to you through recruiting apprentices.

Apprenticeships allow you to build a skilled and productive workforce at all levels of your organisation. You can use them to develop your existing employees, as well as hiring new staff.

Founded in 1888, we have over 130 years’ experience in delivering workplace training programmes. Our offer includes apprenticeships across a range of levels including Intermediate, advanced, higher and degree-Level - validated by UK top 10 Lancaster University.

Blackburn College operates within a number of sectors and we offer apprenticeship training in:

  • Accounting
  • Automotive Technology
  • Beauty Therapy
  • Business Administration and Customer Service
  • Children and Young People
  • Construction
  • Early Years and Education
  • Engineering
  • Electrical
  • Gas
  • Hairdressing and Barbering
  • Health
  • Housing
  • Human Resources
  • Legal
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Plumbing and Heating
  • Procurement and Supply
  • Sewing and Textiles Care Operative (Laundry)
  • Social Care

Boosting your workforce is not the only advantage; there are many other incentives. For example, your business could earn an incentive payment of up to £3,000.

You can be paid £1,000 for taking on an apprentice who is aged 16-18 (extended to under 25 for identified care leavers).

If you recruit new apprentices from now until 31 January 2021, additional incentive payments are available. Employers will receive £2,000 for those aged 16 to 24 and £1,500 for those aged 25+.

The payment is different to apprenticeship levy funds and you can spend it on anything to support your organisation’s costs.

There is no need to worry about finding the right person – our recruitment coordinators will work with you to match your business requirements and help you find a perfect candidate for your job.

Blackburn College is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted for apprenticeships and we are top 10 in England for 16-18 year old achievement. We are also the top college in Pennine Lancashire for all age success.
