Clayton Amateur Boxing Club are preparing to host another sensational evening of boxing at Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue.

On Friday 14th October a black tie and gown event will take place at Stanley’s 1968 Lounge from 6pm with tickets, priced at £45pp, including an evening of boxing and 2-course dinner, while the bar will be open until midnight. A corporate table of six is priced at £320 with an advert in the event programme included. To buy tickets or to book a corporate table, call 07825 250307.

This is the second Clayton Amateur Boxing Club event to take place at Stanley in 2022, with crowds witnessing a fantastic afternoon of amateur international boxing back in March, one of the first events to be hosted at Stanley’s £2.5m hospitality venue.

Ahead of October’s prestigious event, organisers Clayton Amateur Boxing Club are also looking for a main sponsor at £1,700. Any sponsorship enquiries can be made to head coach and volunteer John Brindle on 07825 250307.

John, who works with vulnerable adults by day and an amateur boxing coach by night, is well known in Hyndburn for helping youngsters turn their lives around.

Mr Brindle, said: “We hosted a fantastic event at Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue back in March and can’t wait to do it all over again.

“Tickets are already selling fast for this one and with such great interest, we are inviting a local business to get involved and to sponsor this event.”

David Burgess, Managing Director at Accrington Stanley, commented: “We are a community club here at Stanley and this venue was built so that we can host events just like this.

“It will be fantastic to see another packed out 1968 Lounge and we would encourage anyone thinking of coming to get their tickets before they sell out. Out of 160 tickets available, 89 have already sold pre-release, so be quick!”

Clayton Amateur Boxing Club, a non-for-profit organisation, moved into a new home at the Clayton Civic Hall earlier this year after being awarded a Sport England, Community Asset Fund grant.

With a long history of serving the local community, providing a safe community for hundreds of children and young people, the £50,000 grant has allowed the Club to transform Clayton Civic Hall into a boxing and fitness facility, encouraging more females to get involved with their programmes, as well as providing opportunities for young people and adults with disability or additional needs.

The club has provided a safe space for hundreds of children and young people.
