As 2026 enters its final few months, The Eventus Recruitment Group is continuing its commitment to supporting young people by partnering with Lancaster and Morecambe charity Escape2Make and delivering employability workshops for local 11 to 18-year-olds.

Lancashire-based recruitment specialists The Eventus Recruitment Group are supporting Escape2Make (E2M) as their Charity of the Year. With the new academic year under way, members of the Eventus team will use their recruitment experience to deliver employability workshops at the E2M Centre in Lancaster, helping young people build confidence, understand the workplace and develop practical skills for future employment.

Escape2Make is a registered charity providing free creative opportunities for 11 to 18-year-olds across Lancaster and Morecambe. It aims to help young people escape boredom, social media, loneliness and pressures at school or home, while giving them opportunities to make things, make friends and make a difference in their community. Its programme includes year-round clubs, school holiday activities, outreach workshops and larger community projects covering areas such as art, film, crafts, drama, pottery, performance and making.

The charity has had a busy 2026. Earlier this year, its E2M Cabaret gave young people opportunities to develop talents ranging from contemporary dance and stand-up comedy to baking, livestreaming and magic, culminating in a performance at The Platform in Morecambe. Escape2Make was also presented with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service during the event, having been announced as a recipient in 2025. More recently, its Heritage Festival provided five weeks of free creative activities inspired by the heritage of Lancaster and Morecambe, culminating in a community festival in Lancaster on 29th August.

The Eventus team’s employability workshops will add a different area of expertise to Escape2Make’s programme. Drawing on their day-to-day experience of recruitment and career development, team members will provide practical, age-appropriate guidance about employment and the world of work, with the aim of helping young people feel more prepared when they begin considering their first jobs and future careers.

Siobhan Courtney, Managing Director of The Eventus Recruitment Group, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Escape2Make as our Charity of the Year. They provide young people across Lancaster and Morecambe with fantastic opportunities to try new things, develop skills, meet other people and build their confidence.

"As recruiters, we know how important confidence and employability skills can be when someone first enters the workplace. We want to use the knowledge and experience within our team to give young people practical guidance that will help them feel more prepared when they start thinking about employment and their future careers. Escape2Make’s commitment to helping young people develop their skills and realise their potential really resonates with us, and we are looking forward to working with the charity again.”
