Eric Wright announced as headline sponsor of Rosemere Valentine's appeal

Construction company The Eric Wright Group, based in Leyland, has announced that it will once again be the main sponsor for Rosemere Cancer Foundation's Valentine’s Appeal.

Eric Wright Group has donated £1,500 to the charity, which will helps Rosemere stage its Valentine’s Concert as well as a number of other fundraising activities throughout February as part of the charity’s annual Valentine’s Appeal.

The Valentine’s Appeal, now in its fourth year, is a month-long campaign dedicated to raising awareness and vital funds for the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, a charity that helps cancer patients going through treatment in Lancashire and South Cumbria. This year the charity is aiming to raise £50,000 through a variety of events and initiatives.

The highlight of the appeal is the Valentine’s Concert by Candlelight, set within the dramatic surroundings of Blackburn Cathedral. This year it will be headlined by opera star Camilla Kerslake. She will be supported by The One Voice Choir, The Swing Band from St Christopher’s CE High School in Accrington and solo artist Ben Fourie on French Horn. Tickets for the event cost from £7.50 and are now on sale at www.rosemere.org.uk

Other activities throughout the month will include supermarket collections, fundraising events, a prize draw and the sale of Appeal badges.

Eric Wright Group was established in 1979, operating mainly in Lancashire and the North West of England. It has a strong tradition of returning a proportion of its profits to the community through support for local charities.

Jim Carter, managing director at Eric Wright Group said: “Last year’s Valentine’s Concert was a magical night and we’re delighted to once again be involved with this and Rosemere Valentine’s Appeal as a whole in 2014. It’s wonderful to know that we’re playing a part in helping generate vital funding for projects which support local patients during their treatment.” Sue Thompson, chief officer at Rosemere Cancer Foundation said: “We’d like to thank Eric Wright for their continued support. The Rosemere Valentine’s Appeal is a wonderful way for us to reach a new audience of supporters and the company’s generous contribution will ensure that our Valentine’s Concert will remain the glittering centrepiece of the campaign.”
