Enforcing a County Court Judgment

We recognise that businesses rely on effective collection of money owed to them. Our comprehensive range of High Court and Certificated Enforcement Agent (Bailiff) enforcement solutions will help you collect your money quickly and easily.

Judgment enforcement

If you have obtained your own County Court Judgment (CCJ) and this is over £600 including costs, we can transfer this to the High Court for enforcement. We offer a free transfer up service, the only cost to your business is a court fee to obtain the Writ of Control. This cost is fully recoverable from the debtor should we be successful in recovering on your behalf.

A county court judgment is valid for six years, so if you have an unpaid judgment less than six years old we can assist and try and recover the money you are owed.

The enforcement process

We believe that determination leads to results. We will, on the receipt of the writ at the office, issue a notice of enforcement to the debtor.

If the debtor does not pay after this notice, an enforcement agent will visit the debtor to take control of the debtor’s goods. We will then report to you direct, as to the action that has been taken.

Where we recover your judgment and costs in full, we also collect costs of execution under the writ and interest at eight per cent per annum for you. Our fees and charges are paid by the debtor upon successful recovery.

Our enforcement agents are assisted by HCE Group’s bespoke case management system and carry handheld credit and debit card machines allowing for secure payments on the doorstep. We also offer payments via Open Banking on a mobile or computer.

Nationwide coverage with personal service

We have over 200 dedicated employees, covering the length and breadth of England and Wales.

Our 15 authorised High Court Enforcement Officers and national team of enforcement agents, each with strong local knowledge, will get you fast, effective results.

All our agents receive comprehensive training, keeping them up to date with the latest legislation. Our agents are all employed directly by us, meaning we have full oversight and we ensure that they report accurately and in a timely manner as to the cases they are working on meaning you can be updated at regular intervals.

How to instruct us to enforce your CCJ

Instructing HCE Group to act on your behalf is quick and simple. All we require is a copy of the sealed judgment and any further information on the debtor you have. We can transfer the action out of the County Court and into the High Court for fast, effective enforcement.

Our transfer-up service is free of charge, but you will need to make a payment for the court fee then we can obtain the writ of control before we can get started.

The easiest way to get things moving is to fill in our online Judgment Enforcement form.
