Elite Tele.com appoints first ever chief technology officer

Chorley unified communications provider Elite has appointed Liam Diamond as its company’s first ever chief technology officer.

A decorated army veteran, Liam first developed his IT skills in the armed forces and later worked in systems development for the MoD. He then spent three years in the telecoms sector in New Zealand before returning to the UK to work in various senior IT roles in the technology, car retail, professional services and banking sectors before accepting his new post with Elite.

Liam said: “Compared to some of the long-established multi-nationals I have worked with in the past, Elite is still a relatively young business with a very progressive approach to developing a commercial strategy. Joining such a dynamic and forward-focused business in a sector where there is so much innovation is a very exciting prospect and will give me an opportunity to work with an extraordinarily talented team while making an impact on the future direction and success of the company.”

Liam’s new post is a board level position and his approach is to engage with team leaders across the business, empowering them to take an active role in IT strategy decisions which he can then work towards implementing across the business.

He added: “Elite has grown by acquisition so I see a key part of my role as developing our ‘one company’ approach and ensuring we leverage knowledge across the business to retain our specialist credentials and best in class service. One of the reasons that Elite is so successful is that it has a culture that is very open to change, which means that it will continue to adapt to developments in technology and businesses’ communications needs.” CEO of Elite, Matt Newing, added: “Bringing Liam on board is a major coup for Elite and his wealth of experience will help to ensure that we continue to adopt the most advanced technologies with the greatest potential for adding value to our customers’ businesses. His flexible, can do approach fits in perfectly with our company culture and I feel certain that he will both develop our customer proposition and inspire our team.”
