Blackburn forecourt group EG On The Move has continued to accelerate its growth with the acquisition of another 27 sites in the UK.
The business, founded by billionaire Zuber Issa, announced the deal for leading independent petrol forecourt operator MPK Garages today.
It is the latest in a string of deals which have strengthened the company’s footprint in the UK and Europe.
The inclusion of the MPK sites has edged the EG On The Move network towards 200 sites across the UK and extends its presence in the midlands. No figure has been put on the transaction.
It follows a deal in February which saw the business reach an agreement to acquire 260 sites in France.
Zuber Issa, chief executive of EG On The Move, said: “The MPK acquisition marks another important step in our UK growth strategy. MPK is a highly respected petrol forecourt operator with a strong regional presence in the midlands.”
MPK Garages is ranked among the UK’s top 50 leading independent petrol forecourt operators. The majority its sites are freehold and operate under Valero, Texaco and Gulf fuel brands, with Nisa-branded retail stores.
EG On The Move plans to roll out an enhanced foodservice proposition, alongside a broader, more comprehensive grocery and merchandise range.
And it says the acquisition creates an opportunity for it to expand fast EV charging and provide local businesses with competitive fuel card options for their fleets.
EG On The Move reported revenue of more than £1bn and EBITDA of £52m in its accounts for the year ended December 31, 2025.
Zuber Issa founded EG On The Move when he acquired the forecourt division of the EG Group in a £228m deal in 2024, stepping down as its co-chief executive.
He has been actively growing his new company as he looks to “create a retail powerhouse” in the independent petrol forecourt sector.
